High School Transition
 
Representatives from Central High School will be at New Heights during Spring 2024. They will meet with 8th grade students to talk about 9th grade classes and the transition to high school. Virtual students and any face-to-face students who do not attend the meeting will be able to get a copy of all the information discussed. Everything provided by Central High School will be posted to this page.

Greetings Rising 9th Grader:

 

My name is Mr. Marsh, with Central High School. Staff from Central will meet with you later this school year to discuss scheduling classes for your 9th grade year.

 

You are required to have at least 24 Units to graduate which includes the following:

 

4- English     

1- U.S. History      

.5- Economics   

.5- Government  

1- Other Social Studies    

4- Mathematics 

3- Sciences    

1- Computer Science  

1- Physical Education or JROTC or Marching Band with PE  

1- World Language or Career and Technology Elective      

.5- Personal Finance  

6.5 Electives   

Total 24

 

 

In registering you, your 8th Grade ELA and Math teacher will recommend your Math and English classes. These recommendations also align with your Science and Social Studies. With that being said, you will need to select elective courses to complete registration.
