Beginning April 10, Jr. Beta Club members are asked to collect the following items to be delivered to nursing home and assisted living facilities:
Large Print Word Search books
Coloring Books
Adult Coloring Booklets
Ink Pens
Colored Pencils
Diabetic Socks
Socks with grippers on the bottom
Hypo-Allergenic, Moisterizing Lotions
Kleenex Tissues
Jr. Beta Meeting - Tuesday, March 27.
Beta Members will make Easter Cards to be delivered to residents at the nursing home and assisted living facilities.
Jr. Beta Convention: Jan. 10 - 12
Students meet after school to finalize projects Jan. 8 and Jan. 9 from 3:30 until 4:30pm.
*REMINDER: Parent meeting at 4:30pm on Tuesday, January 9. 
*All projects must be finalized and turned in by 4:30pm on January 9.
*Members attending the convention must ride the bus on January 10 and are expected to stay with the group the entire time.  We plan to leave NHMS 2:00 - 2:30pm.
*Chesterfield County School District and Jr. Beta Dress Code and Code of Conduct must be followed. This is a school-sponsored event.
*Students do not have to wear school uniforms while in Myrtle Beach, however they are expected to follow the district dress code the same as when they participate in a school dress-down day. If a student is not dressed properly, they will be asked to change clothes before we leave the hotel. 
*Bring a pair of jeans to wear with your Jr. Beta T-shirt on Thursday.
*Students may bring one suitcase and one sling bag. 
*A permission form must be completed and signed by each student and his/her parent. The forms must be turned in on Tuesday, January 9. It is the parents' responsibility to notify sponsors of any medical issues regarding their child.
*Parents who wish to sign out their child on Friday, January 12 before leaving Myrtle Beach should provide a signed note to Mrs. Laura Miller before students leave New Heights on January 10.
*Students have been notified of their room assignments.  Girls will not be allowed to visit boys' rooms. Boys will not be allowed to visit girls' rooms. Students are expected to cooperate with the curfew, as set by club sponsors. 
*Parents will receive a copy of the Trip Schedule on Tuesday, January 9 during the parent meeting.
*Any students who require disciplinary action due to non-compliance will also receive disciplinary action when they return to NHMS.

Note: Rough drafts for Essay & Poetry are due Nov. 28. Final drafts and final Technology Video project due to Mrs. Laura Miller on or before December 11.
Members who are competing at the convention in January will work on their projects each week. All others will assist with the school recycling project or cleaning up around the school.
Please understand that being a Jr. Beta means you exhibit the traits of a Beta and you lead by example. Members who do not actively participate in service projects will NOT receive community service credits. 
Members who do not maintain the required academic standing will be placed on probation. If grades do not improve to meet the Beta requirements, the membership with the SC Jr. Beta Club will be suspended. Members can also be placed on probation and/or suspended due to disciplinary issues.

Jr. Beta Meeting - Mandatory for All Members - November 7 from 3:30 until 4:30pm.
Parents are welcome to attend the meeting.  Otherwise, please make sure your ride picks you up on time!

$25 Induction Fee
Inductees are required to attend the Induction Ceremony. 
Jr. Beta Club members must maintain a grade average of at least 93 and exhibit a high quality of citizenship and character.
