Open to public - no admission fee. Information will benefit Middle School parents, High School parents and community members. All NHMS students with a parent/guardian in attendance will receive $2 in Hawk Bucks!

Friday, March 27th - we had a wonderful time visiting with Mr. Mark Williams, Show Car Driver for the Elliott Sadler #1 OneMain Financial Race Car. All students had the opportunity to take a close look at the car and ask questions about the different types of careers available through NASCAR. "Thank You" to the Elliott Sadler Marketing Team for making this possible for our students!

On March 9, the NHMS Drama Club presented Aladdin. Students have been working with the Baillie Players who provided the script, music and costumes. Ms. Lauren Armstead, Mrs. Mary Beth Rollings and Mr. Chad Johnson worked with the students to learn their lines and directed the students’ acting in each scene. A special performance was held at 1:30pm for select students from each grade level who were in good standing regarding grades and behavior. An evening performance was held at 6:00pm for parents, faculty, friends and community members.

On Friday February 27, 2015, Representative Yow talked with students in Ms. Massey’s 8th grade classes and Mrs. Mary Beth Rollings 7th grade class about his job as our legislator. He shared with students how his experience in the military gave him a desire to serve others. Representative Yow also held mock elections between himself and a student from each class. The election included a campaign, which he aced without selling students empty promises. All the students enjoyed their time spent with Representative Yow. The students and faculty at NHMS extend a special "Thank You" to Representative Yow for the wonderful experience.

Myia will represent Chesterfield County School District at the Regional Spelling Bee Competition to be held in Charlotte, NC on February 23.

Genna Rivers, 8th grade student performed at the Pageland Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet held on January 20 at the Pageland Community Center.

On January 22, New Heights issued a proclamation for School Board Recognition Month. The students at New Heights Middle School benefit every day from the dedication and commitment to public education of our Chesterfield County School Board members. They all make personal sacrifices and spend countless hours tending to Board business. It is often a thankless job. School boards strengthen public education and we encourage everyone to say, “Thank You!” to all the men and women who serve on the Chesterfield County School Board of Education.

January 12th - January 30th: Your small change can make a difference. Each grade level will have a jar for collections. You get 1 point for each penny in the jar. Points will be deducted for any nickels, dimes, quarters or dollars in the jar. (So, put pennies in Your grade-level jar and you can put the nickels, dimes and quarters or dollars in your competitor's jars.) At the end of the war, the grade level with the most points will be rewarded with a special surprise!
